Washington D.C, USA, Thursday, July 15, 2010: The Somali Community of the Washington DC Metropolitan area strongly condemns the terrorist act against the Ugandan people and other victims of this horrific crime;

We wish to extend our most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Uganda.

We acknowledge the welcoming and the hospitality of the Ugandan people and government offered to the thousands of Somalian refugees in their country;

We urge the Ugandan government to be proactive in preventing backlash against the vulnerable Somalian refugees as a vengeance to the cowardly terrorist act committed by Al-Shabab.
